Great Redan sergeant figure · Crimean War miniature 75mm · Storming the Great Redan

Leading the assault: this 75mm scale figure depicts a British Sergeant, sapper axe in hand, storming the Great Redan during the Crimean War (1853–1856). The attacks on the Great Redan — the great Russian bastion at Sevastopol — were among the most desperate actions of the war, and this figure captures an NCO at the sharp end of the assault. Sculpted by Alan Ball.

The kit is a multi-part figure supplied unassembled and unpainted, and requires assembly. Any groundwork shown in the photographs was provided by the artist and is not included. Not suitable for children under 12.

Painting this figure

Scarlet coat, weathered campaign kit and the bare steel of the axe reward careful layering — ideal territory for our Kolinsky sable brushes. Build the whole assault with the Officer, the standing and crouching Privates, all in our Crimean War miniatures range.
